Understanding HR+/HER2-Negative Breast Cancer
HR+/HER2-negative breast cancer is a subtype of breast cancer defined by two important biomarkers: hormone receptors (HR) and HER2.
Hormone Receptor-Positive [HR+]:
HR+ breast cancer cells have receptors that can use hormones such as estrogen and progesterone to grow.
HER2-Negative [HER2- ]:
HER2-negative breast cancer cells do not have higher-than-normal levels of the HER2 protein.
